An email from Amazon this morning confirmed that my latest book’s physical edition is now available for purchase, for anyone interested:
I’ve added the ebook version to Kindle Unlimited for the purposes of as much dissemination as possible and – as the title stated – I’ve set May 27 – 31 2024 as dates where the ebook will be freely available to download. The book is only 91 pages in length for the ebook version and 154 pages in length for the physical copy.
I will be focusing on writing fantasy fiction from now on. Maybe I will dabble in the Sci-Fi genre at some point, but I’m not entirely sure yet. I’m not really sure any sci-fi novel I make would be good, but watching reviews of Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon Parts 1 and 2, and their failings, has made me wonder if anything I write could ever be that bad in writing quality. I’m primarily interested in stories closer to regular fantasy right now. I want to get three “test-run” novels out by the end of the year and not focus too much on researching depressing political topics to share my perspective on them. It just becomes too taxing after over a year of cogitating and ruminating on the topic. I’m glad I did it because people deserve to have their human rights defended, of course; but it takes a toll. This will not prevent me from calling or emailing the US Congress every weekday that isn’t a holiday to mention my disgust with the Oliphant vs Suquamish 1978 Supreme Court decision and how it categorically robs Native Americans throughout the US of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Also, I honestly thought I’d have a fantasy novel out soon after the first fictional novel; didn’t expect the one I released 7 years ago to be the only one for this length of time. I’m kind of embarrassed as that one was a joke novel, but… oh well. That’s on me. All the more reason to put in effort to write a story worth reading beyond nonsensical comedy. I’m a bit embarrassed that it was my first ever debut novel and I’m thinking of just removing it; but I also feel it’s important to show an author’s writing journey. I’m just not entirely sure yet.
I’d like to allocate time on finally completing all the blog posts pertaining to Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne’s themes, but I don’t yet know when that’ll be done. It’ll probably depend on how much free time that I have available. My primary focus will still be on fantasy fiction writing for now and I really hope to get at least three fantasy ebooks out before the end of this year. I feel I’ve been holding back on this goal for far too long. Also, I’ve done something that can be considered stupid by most reasonable people; I quit my job after two years and six months of working there; I had asked for advice over the melodramatic situation I found myself in and took the advice of one friend; I jotted down my interests and reasons for staying and leaving while weighing the pros and cons. I decided to leave, because every single aspect I considered positive had essentially been curtailed and I shouldn’t have to be my direct boss’s therapist and they don’t have a right to my labor, if I’m expected to be treated with derision and having all my objections sneered at by incompetent upper-management. It was also to motivate me to push me towards my actual dream goals. If I fail, then I fail and that’s on me. I should have enough savings for up to six months and I’ll see what I can do in that time, when I burn every bridge and don’t give myself any other option but the one that I always wanted. Honestly, as of now, despite all the initial positives, the job now feels like it had been a waste of my time and talents and I’d rather take a risk than have a supposed safety net that effectively decreases my personal pay and expects me to wait around at the management’s beck and call while they display nothing but ignorance, arrogance, and repeated displays of the most pathetic forms of human stupidity. As far as I’m concerned, it is now a part of my past and I’ll be moving forward with work that brings me joy and that I actually want to do. I’ve felt such a sense of accomplishment from making an ebook and physical copy of my most recent political book on a topic that I always write about due to concern for fellow Americans human rights. I want to accomplish the same for at least three “test-run” fantasy books within this year to see how well I do.
