What Nobody Told Me in Life: Charisma Has Nothing to do with Compassion, Sincerity, Honesty, and Truth: In fact, if you’re sincere, honest, compassionate, and true then you’re considered an Asshole

I am so fucking tired of reading and hearing about how Charisma has to do with sincerity, compassion, honesty, and truth. This is an absolute falsehood and it is a painfully obvious one where people are clearly deluding themselves regarding the evidence.

Here’s some basic counter-evidence that is so obvious that this claim is bullshit: President Donald Trump.

Look at those three words, read it, understand it, and realize that’s the truth about charisma. He’s only the President of the United States of America and he got elected twice. It’s only President of the most powerful democracy in human history, why would that matter to people? And how did he do that? He lied, people loved hearing the lies and knew they were lies as he was saying those lies, and they voted him in power twice because the loved the idea of him bashing the Corporate news media with making up whatever he wanted.

The only thing that people actually care about, is if you sound like you know what you’re talking about. As long as you sound confident in your bullshit, you will have power over people. Facts matter less than their feeling good about themselves when you lie to tell them their preconceived notions are correct.

Aha! You think I’m just using an odd example, don’t you? Perhaps you believe President Donald Trump is an outlier for a specific period of history? Oh okay, so let me give you another example of why this is incorrect. Think of this word, read it, understand it, and realize it’s the truth about charisma too:

Politician.

What is a politician notorious for? FOR LYING! And what happens when a politician lies? They get elected into power, because they made you feel good about your preconceived notions instead of telling you the truth. And this has happened… throughout all of democratic history. Or, at the very least, the vast majority of democratic history of basically all democracies everywhere.

So, since you’re about to say I’m being an asshole or a bigot, let me just ask: Am I lying to you? No? So, is that why you have the sudden urge to label me a bigot or an asshole, because I’m telling you the truth?

You know who excels at confidence? People who are vilified as charming sociopaths! And they’re usually compulsive liars, so what does that tell you about the secret of confidence?

In short, if you’re honest, you get the label comedian like George Carlin, or get ignored as horribly negative like Chris Hedges, or get viewed as an asshole like neuroscientist Sam Harris. So you see, if you want to be successful in life, just lie to people and tell them what they want to hear, not what is actually true. Sure, the millions of people below you in the corporate ladder will suffer, bailouts ruining people’s livelihoods will happen, and everything will stagnate and nothing will change; but if you’re honest about US societal problems, then nothing changes anyway, because nobody wants to hear the honest truth.

At the very least, both how politicians are actually elected and the prime example of President Donald Trump’s ascendency to the Presidency is unambiguous truth that those saying that charisma and leadership are built on compassion, honesty, truth, and sincerity are full of horseshit.

Writing essays criticizing Islam for violence against women including little girls? Well, guess I’m an “Islamophobe” for criticizing Islam’s propensity for supporting child rape.

Writing essays and citing news stories of the Catholic Church’s child rape scandals? Well, guess I’m an anti-Christian bigot for pointing out how many Christian children suffer and remain ignored by Christian communities.

Criticizing Payment processors for violating First Amendment rights? Well, apparently, I should be labeled a porn addict now for a clear violation of fundamental human rights.

Pointing out these things? Oh, I’m being “political” in order for people to shut their brains off and label me a bigot automatically, so they don’t have to fundamentally think about these societal problems.

If you want to be successful in life especially in the United States, then never be honest.
